Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland

Clitheroe – West Bradford – Grindleton Fell – Waddington – Clitheroe

Join us for a relaxed ramble through the Ribble Valley and up onto the foothills of the Bowland Fells in one of Lancashire’s last remaining wild places.

We start in the market town of Clitheroe and meander alongside the River Ribble before climbing up into the rugged uplands on the southern fringe of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering expansive views over Pendle and the Ribble Valley and across to the Bowland Fells.

A long descent takes us into the picture-postcard village of Waddington, where we have the option of pausing to rehydrate at one of three excellent cask ale and food pubs, before a short final stretch back into Clitheroe.
