Marple – Roman Lakes – River Goyt – Mellor Cross – Marple Bridge
Our latest collaboration event with the largest business development organisation in the North West, Pro Manchester. This sunset walk will be the final one of the 2022 series before we switch to sunrise walks in October.
Our plan is to start the evening in Marple, Cheshire and follow the course of the River Goyt past the Roman Lakes. We’ll then begin to head gently uphill towards the summit of Mellor Cross (for approx 19:00) where, subject to weather, we should enjoy fine views back across the city. We’ll also have a short break so you can refuel with a quick picnic.
Thereafter – with the sun setting over Manchester – we’ll drop back down to Marple Bridge (with darkness descending) and head to one of the village pubs for a quick drink or even a bite to eat before Freshwalkers make their journeys home.
