Lake District tour: Ambleside

We’ll pack plenty in across the two days. Our intention on day one is to attack Scafell Pike (978m), the highest mountain in England, the scenic way, from the Langdale Valley. For those worried about pace, we’ll get you to Bowfell (902m) instead on a shorter loop and there’ll likely be a lower level walk option too.

The following day will be more leisurely as we climb up Loughrigg Fell and then village hop from Skelwith to Elterwater and then up and over to Grasmere. Still 15km if you walk the whole way mind. In between, there’ll be ample chances to relax in pubs and take things as easy or as hard as you like.

On Friday night, we’ve exclusively hired Lucy’s on a Plate, a longstanding local favourite in Ambleside to celebrate a fabulous two days in the mountains.
