Ashworth Moor Reservoir – Knowl Hill – Naden Reservoirs – Hail Stone Hill – Scout Moor – Cheesden Pasture – Ashworth Moor Reservoir
Starting outside the famously haunted Owd Betts pub opposite Ashworth Moor reservoir, this fantastic route explores the wind farms on Scout Moor. This walk initially takes you up to the trig point on Knowl Hill before dropping through Naden reservoirs. The route then heads steadily uphill again, passing Top of Pike before reaching the highest point of the Forest of Rossendale at Hailstorm Hill.
We then begin the descent back down Cheesden Pasture towards our starting point. Prepare for some breathtaking views that stretch as far as the Cheshire plain on these less beaten than usual paths.
