Edale – Grindsbrook Clough – Kinder Downfall – Kinder Low – Kinder Summit – Jacob’s Ladder – Edale
The plan is to head to Edale in the Hope Valley and attack the steep, rocky climb of Grindsbrook Clough which requires the occasional use of hands to scramble up this iconic route. At the top, we’ll walk along the edges of Kinder Scout before cutting across the plateau to Kinder Downfall. This section of the route involves challenging terrain until we reach the River Kinder, which slowly begins to provide natural navigation support.
We’ll stop for lunch at Kinder Downfall before starting our journey back towards Edale. On the way, we’ll pass the trig point at Kinder Low before going wild again to locate Kinder’s Summit and the highest point in the Peak District at 636m. We’ll likely retrace our steps before the final descent into Edale via Jacob’s Ladder and the Pennine Way.
