This challenging day hike which includes four Wainwrights forms part of our wider Helvellyn & Ullswater tour event. This page is for those of you who can’t make the entire tour but simply wish to join the main Thursday hike.
A high level walk starting on the outskirts of Glenridding from our tour base, Almond Lodge bunkhouse. We’ll initially head west towards the zigzag path up the side of Kepple Cove and then over Whiteside and Lower Man to reach our summit, Helvellyn. We’ll then bear left from the main path at Swallow Scarth to reach Nethermost Pike and Dollywagon Pike before descending the zigzag path down to Grisedale Tarn. We’ll then head back to our starting point via the path down Grisedale from the tarn outflow. A challenging and rewarding lakeland walk for experienced and fit hikers.
