Upper Derwent Visitor Centre – Howden Reservoir – Alport Castles – Upper Derwent Visitor Centre
A truly epic circular hike of the Upper Derwent Valley, including stunning summertime forest and reservoir walking. The plan is to loop around Upper Derwent and Howden Reservoirs, heading in the direction of the remote Howden Moors. We then turn around and climb up towards the incredible Alport Castles before dropping back through the forest and along the reservoir to our starting point.
