Edale – Lord’s Seat – Rushup Edge – Mam Tor – Edale
Welcome to Freshwalks and our first full moon walk with December being aptly named the Cold Moon. The moon rises in the north east at 15:03 and will be 399,774km from earth and at 99.9% illumination by the time it passes meridian close to midnight. We intend to walk in between these times and the sky will be pitch black from around 6pm onwards.
You will need to wear warm layered clothing including waterproofs and either walking boots or shoes. Other essential items are a good quality torch, drinking water, perhaps some evening snacks and a flask of something hot for an appropriate refreshments stop.
We aim to be back in Edale around 9pm and there are a couple of trains back to Manchester.
