Cheesden Valley & Ashworth Valley Circular

Cheesden Valley – Deeply Vale – Ashworth Valley – Owd Betts

We will venture into the Cheesden and Ashworth Valley, nestled between Rochdale and Bury. An area full of heritage and ancient woodlands, Ashworth Valley was home to many early industrial revolution mills, the ruins of which can be spotted along the walk. During the 70s the Deeply Vale Music Festival was hosted locally, and we will travel through this area on the route.

We aim to start the walk at 10.30am and finish mid-afternoon at Owd Betts, an 18th century pub on the edge of Scout Moor. There is also a Granelli’s ice cream van if we get good weather.
