Alderley Edge – Alderley Park – Radnor Mere – Alderley Edge
This superb route will see us leave Alderley Edge railway station in the morning and sweep out through the National Trust estate. Set around a dramatic sandstone escarpment in rolling Cheshire farmland and mature Scots pines and beech woodlands, the Edge has spectacular views, intriguing legends and an ancient mining history.
We’ll then head towards Alderley Park where we’ll stop for a picnic lunch and learn about the history and future plans of this amazing Park where world-leading science, innovation and stylish living come together to create a place like no other. Here there are over 400 acres of historic parkland with many scenic walks and breathtaking views to enjoy. We’ll explore and enjoy some of them including a loop of Radnor Mere.
