West Kirby

West Kirby might be one of our more recent places to visit, but it's fast becoming one of our favourites! Located in the north-west corner of the Wirral Peninsula, Merseyside, West Kirby is a town surrounded by natural beauty, with views of the Welsh Hills, the majestic Dee Estuary and some fantastic beach walks. There’s plenty to discover in this coastal town.

One of West Kirby’s most treasured features is Hilbre Island. This uninhabited island is truly something spectacular and is one of the UK’s just 43 unbridged tidal islands that can be reached by foot from mainland. The island is home to an abundance of wildlife, from rare birds to grey seals. Overlooking Hilbre Island are the Red Rocks, a stunning coastline of rust-coloured sand dunes that make for some excellent rock pooling.

Back in the town centre, West Kirby hosts a number of wonderful bars and restaurants and several local independent shops which sell unique products unavailable on the high street. West Kirby is a hot spot for families, dog walkers, watersport fanatics and wildlife lovers – there’s something for everyone!
