Freshwalks is set to expand into South Wales with its inaugural walk in the region.
Delivered in collaboration with Llanelli-based, Red Rock International on the 6th of September, the hiking event is set to attract business owners and professionals from Swansea, Llanelli & Port Talbot to take part in a 10km walk on the Gower Peninsula.
More than 1,000 people have attended walks organised across the north of England since the business launched in 2014. Businesses can attend ad-hoc or take membership and partner packages for those looking to embed this within a wider wellbeing strategy for employees.
Speaking of the launch, founder of Freshwalks, Michael Di Paola said: “In recent years, we’ve expanded across the north of England connecting professionals from Leeds and Sheffield to Manchester and Liverpool – and those in between. Freshwalks works brilliantly for professionals across all sectors whether attendees are looking to make connections, improve wellbeing or focus on professional development.
“One thing our walkers all share is an ambition for business success and a passion or curiosity for the ‘great outdoors’. Having connected with Sam Pate at Red Rock, a combination of Swansea and Llanelli’s thriving start-up and SME community combined with its amazing coastline and the Brecons made it the obvious location for our first foray out of England.”
Recent research from BGF found West Glamorgan is home to 39 fast-growth businesses with a combined workforce of nearly 8,000 people and a combined turnover growth over a three-year-period of 13.76%.
Sam Pate from Red Rock International added: “When we heard about Freshwalks, the idea seemed such a simple and effective way of connecting likeminded companies and their teams. We hope to replicate the success of other locations and look forward to creating a local community of people where ideas and connections multiply, inspiration is found and our bodies and minds become more healthy. Our first walk, starting at Southgate and taking in Three Cliffs Bay, is easily accessible from Swansea and with stunning views and thought-provoking conversations along the route assured.”
